I saw on my friend's blog, Laurel, that we can convert our blogs into books through http://www.blurb.com/. This is motivating me to keep a more consistent and, hopefully, accurate family history. I want to make sure this is in the record books. Hee hee.
Growing up in the Hawkes house it was the norm to engage in arm wrestle, leg wrestle, leg lift, pull up, push up contests with siblings, parents or friends. Hopefully, this will explain why we do this in our house. Isaac is the thumb wrestling pro. He will seriously beat me 4 out of 5 times and has even acknowledged he has a strategy.
Lucas was thrilled to take the pictures for the first time.
Although Isaac holds the record for thumb wrestling, I will boast I am pretty good at leg wrestling. I think the score today was Mike-4 Lisa-4. A tie. When I was younger, I must have been much stronger because I had an easier time defeating my older brothers. I think David is still too scared to have a rematch.

So, SO selective in your choice of pictures. What was the overall score again? Oh that is right, you did win the last one. And I believe I am still undefeated in thumb wrestling.

You guys are so dang funny! I vividly remember all of those contests. I was NEVER the champ of any. You were almost ALWAYS the chsmp.

If you're going to print your blog into a book, remember to post photos in the best resolution for the size book you intend to make. Not too big but not too small. Keep the end in mind as you blog. Blurb recommends full page photos for their largest size book be 3800 x 3300 minimum. The photo you posted of Ariel in pigtails is 200 x 133, as a comparison. That's hardly big enough for even a thumbnail image in a book.
LOVE BLURB! I'm about to order my second blog book from them and they are sooooooo fantastic! I decided to do them every six months in case something happens to Blogger...I will have only lost six months worth of creativity and fabulousness.

Oh yes...I buy the smallest of Blog Books...7x7..so it's a nice little living room table addition...and that way most of my pictures are actually too big and don't load(usually anything over 6mb)...and I would recommend the hardcover...
I'm glad I could help inspire you! :) About the size of the pictures - what I did was once I was in the blurb application making the book, I just replaced the blog pictures that were low resolution with pictures from my computer files that were high resolution. It was easy and just took a little bit more time. So don't worry too much about pictures that you already posted that were too small.

Woo, woo! Love the shots- Lucas has his grandma's photography talent! Ahhh, Kristin and I had many-a leg wrestles back in the day... I'm afraid JAMES could beat me now!
