Boarding childless
Nothing like spontaneity. Mike got home early today from being on call. It was snowing outside and I needed a break from the kids and Mike needed a break from reality. We did a little kid swapping and headed off to the fairly decent hill an hour away. It felt so good. We got a good chuckle out of the fact we were both wearing our kids goggles and they barely performed their function. There were now machines every 30 ft which made some alright powder and the downside was it felt like little glass shards hitting your face whenever you passed one. By the end of the day Mikes face was pretty beat up by the small goggles and ice-pitted face - it made for a good belly laugh. With the short runs and high speed quads we figured we were getting about 10 runs in an hour. Almost enough time each run to get a little leg burn.

Wow, spontaneity doesn't always work out so well. That looks like such a good time. Good for you guys for making it happen.
That is awesome that you guys went and did that instead of doing chores or errands or something more draining. Do you feel revitalized?
How fun for you two! Way to take some time for the marriage. Looks like a gorgeous day despite the ice.
i love that you are wearing your kid's goggles!
What a treat. Good for you.
I'm so jealous! It killed us to be in CO last month and not go skiing. I miss those days so much! I love all the new posts. I can't believe how much bigger Ariel looks since we saw you in October. Even Mason commented that she looked older! And by the way, your family picture is lovely!
I'm so jealous!
I'm replying to your comment about the veggies nutritional value from steaming and pureeing - you only steam the veggies until they are semi-soft and can be easily pureed. Steaming (vs boiling) keeps most of the veggies nutrients in tact so they are still super healthy! You should try it!
Oh yay! I found you guys again! I have missed the photo collages! Jealous of the boarding with the hubby...we haven't been this year and I'm dying to go!
I am so jealous, I haven't been yet, some how Greg always seems to fit it in his work schedule. Looks like you had a great time and your family is so beautiful... how much longer in WI?
Good for you guys! That looks fun if only I could snowboard and we had snow!
If you get off the cat-tracks the snow is even more fun. You should try it sometime!

You know, I was out to dinner last night with Frank and Andy and Reed and Cody and we were watching the winter X-Games on tv. During the women's half-pipe snowboarding competition, Andy says, "You know who was a kick a** chick snowboarder?" No, says I. "Lisa." Says he. LISA as in Lisa Marion? "One and the same," says he. HAHHAHAH! You must have been some kinda rockin' snowboarder to get the praises of Andy...way to go!
