WANTED

In dire need of good music. I am burnt out on the 5 radio stations- 3 christian and 2 country we get here in the middle of Wisconsin. After reading Sara's blog on old music (fight for the right to party) and Mandy's blog looking for running music, I feel inspired to request new music. I know some of you are major music buffs and would love to know what you have on your iPods. I am tiring of my Coldplay and Beastie Boys. The lengthier list the better!

Not knowing what your preferences are, I will take a stab at a few. I subscribe to the NPR All Songs Considered podcast and it frequently introduces me to new artists taht I might not have picked out previously. Recently I've been listening to Brandi Carlile and KT Tunstall. Others from there are Ryan Shaw, Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini, Nick Lowe and Jarvis Crocker. The podcast has several full concerts posted including Nick Lowe and Rilo Kiley, so you could download those from iTunes or NPR.org and listen to them without paying for anything.

Hey thanks! I have heard of Amy Winehouse, but never heard her music. I like most types of genres, although I DO NOT like country. I will check out NPR.org and good to hear from you!

Some of my all time favorite running songs are:
"I See You Baby" by Fatboy Slim.
"Float On" and "Fire It Up"
by Modest Mouse. "You Got Your Cherry Bomb" by Spoon. "She's Fantastic" by Sondre Lerche. And of course, "Pump It" by Black Eye Peas. Trust me on that one!! And an old favorite recently revisted for me is "Hey Ya" by OutKast. Have fun. What do you suggest. I need some new ones too.

I'll get back to you with more. I put some good exercise songs on my blog. I'm trying to think of stuff you don't already have.

I din't know you were so anti-country. Have you always been?
Shame. There's good stuff out there!(:

I couldn't help but run to your selection today. It was awesome! I just couldn't wait until next weekend. I loved them. Thanks!

Keane is good to listen too. One of those where you can listen to the whole CD.

I'll think of more!

Lisa,

Recently I bought i CD by Regina Spektor. Some songs that are really good by her are, Fidelity, Better, Samson, and, On the Radio. Colbie Caillat is really good. She sounds like a girl version of Jack Johnson. The Bird and the Worm by The Used is good. A good song I just bought is Beautiful Disaster by Jon McLaughlin. Some bands i listen to are Jack's Mannequin, The Fray, Sublime, and Lifehouse. There is a new band you should check out named A Fine Frenzy. My friend showed me a singer named Elisa. Some good songs by her are, Rock Your Soul, A Little Over Zero, and, Dancing. Maroon 5 is always good (their old albums). OneRebublic is amazing! They don't sell them on iTunes though. :( One of their famous songs is Apologize. Of course there is Coldplay. I love their songs. Some i listen to alot by them are Trouble and Yellow. Augustana is pretty good. Songs i like by them are, Boston and Sunday Best. If you are looking for something that sounds a little different there is Death Cab For Cutie, The Postal Service, Hellogoodbye, and Playradioplay!.

Check those out. I hope you find something you like.

Love,
Your Favorite 14 year old sister.
Haley

I am a little shocked and disappointed there has been no input here on a subject that only one man who has ever walked this Earth can claim total and complete perfect knowledge and understanding, y'all know who I am referring to - the Original Jam Master Flash, Sargent Lucious, Higgins, mozangeles23, the Celtics starting forward 3-6th grade. Will he distill down on us all a little of the grace, will he drop a little science, will he kick the K-knowledge??? Only time will tell.
