I was lucky enough to find a babysitter for Lucas and Ariel so I could chaperon Isaac's field trip. We went to the school forest, a 300 acre property the school district owns. The field trip just happened to fall on the most beautiful day we have had this year. For Christmas, Mike got Survivor Man DVDs which have been a big hit with Isaac. Isaac is fascinated with this guy who tries to survive out in the wilderness for 7 days. Isaac has learned the top priorities for survival are shelter, food and water. During Isaac's "free time" on the field trip, he and a few girls in our group worked on building this shelter. I was laughing to myself as I watched Isaac work with these girls. His priorities were making a shelter that would provide protection and warmth. The girls wanted to make sure it had windows and shelves to hold things.
This is a tree that a woodpecker has been busy working on. It was fun to spend time with Isaac and watch him interact with his peers.

Ariel unfortunately has no fear of playground equipment and will try anything.
Ariel's tantrum. She was opening and eating candy as we were trying to hide them.
